• Opens: The start date and the yatra schedule are announced each year by the Shrine Board.
• Closes: The yatra traditionally ends on Shravana Purnima with the Chhari Mubarak (the holy mace) reaching the cave. — Raksha Bandhan: 17/08/2027 (Tue)

Weather and season

Only during the yatra season. Weather at the cave changes quickly; carry warm and rain clothing. Advance registration and a health certificate are compulsory.
