Shloka of the day

Shloka of the day Saturday, 7 March 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 4.38

na hi jñānena sadṛśaṃ pavitramiha vidyate |

tatsvayaṃ yogasaṃsiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati ||

Meaning

Nothing in this world purifies like knowledge. One perfected in yoga finds it within oneself in due time.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
