Abujh (self-evident) muhurat days in 2026
Tradition holds these days auspicious as a whole for beginnings, so no separate muhurat is sought for them (abujh: "unasked"). The dates are those of the festivals at your place.
- Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Gudi Padwa) 19/03/2026 (Thu) (passed) Next: 07/04/2027 (Wed) Gudi Padwa One of the sāḍe-tīn (three and a half) muhurats.
- Akshaya Tritiya 19/04/2026 (Sun) (passed) Next: 08/05/2027 (Sat) Akshaya Tritiya One of the sāḍe-tīn muhurats; a yugadi tithi (the beginning of the Treta yuga) whose merit is called akshaya, undecaying.
- Vijayadashami (Dussehra) 20/10/2026 (Tue) (passed) Next: 09/10/2027 (Sat) Vijayadashami (Dussehra) One of the sāḍe-tīn muhurats; the time when the stars appear is called vijaya, for success in every undertaking (verse quoted in Dharma Sindhu and Nirnaya Sindhu).
- Kartika Shukla Pratipada (Bali Pratipada) Half muhurat 09/11/2026 (Mon) Govardhan Puja One of the sāḍe-tīn (three and a half) muhurats.
Source: the sāḍe-tīn muhūrta of Maharashtrian Panchang tradition, Gudi Padwa, Akshaya Tritiya and Vijayadashami, with Bali Pratipada as the half; for Vijayadashami also the verse "āśvinasya site pakṣe daśamyāṃ tārakodaye, sa kālo vijayo jñeyaḥ sarvakāryārthasiddhaye".
Vasant Panchami, Dev Uthani Ekadashi, Bhadli Navami and Phulera Dooj are also treated as abujh wedding days in parts of North and West India. We found no textual source for that custom, so they are not listed here.
A traditional indication only. Many families still consult a Panchang on these days, and the Muhurat search on this site applies each purpose's own rules to them as to any other day.
How Muhurat search works
- Choose the purpose
Type what you are planning or pick a purpose. Each has its own required and preferred rules.
- Pick dates and time of day
Search up to six months at once, limited to mornings, evenings or particular weekdays if you like.
- Compare the windows
Every window lists its tithi, nakshatra, yoga and lagna, the rules it meets and any it misses.
For each day in your range the Hindu day (sunrise to next sunrise) is divided wherever the tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana, Moon sign or a timed period (Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika, Dur Muhurat, Varjyam) changes. A time is shown only when every required rule of the purpose holds throughout it; preferred rules that are not met are listed as warnings.
Rule sets are based on classical selections as commonly cited by Panchangs. Every rule goes through the platform's Jyotish review, an automated (AI) review against the classical texts and published Panchangs. Where a rule set has not yet passed it, this is stated on its page.
These windows follow the rules listed on this page for the selected place and calculation profile. They are not the only correct Muhurat: traditions, regions and individual horoscopes can lead to different choices. For major ceremonies, consult a qualified priest or Jyotishi.
Traditions may vary by region and Panchang convention. Times are shown for the selected place, time zone and calculation profile.
