About

A muhurta is two ghatis, one thirtieth of a full day. The day from sunrise to sunset and the night from sunset to the next sunrise are each divided into fifteen muhurtas, and each muhurta has a traditional name and is considered favourable or unfavourable. The eighth daytime muhurta (Vidhi) is the Abhijit Muhurat.

Daytime and night-time are each divided into 15 equal parts at your location, so their length changes with the season.

Names follow the Wikipedia Muhurta table (Rudra … Bhaga, Girisha … Samudra); Muhurta Chintamani (Vivaha Prakarana 50–51) names the same slots by their presiding deities, in places differently. Each weekday's Dur Muhurat (Vivaha Prakarana 52) is shown as unfavourable, the same minutes as the Panchang's Dur Muhurat. The other favourable and unfavourable marks come from the Wikipedia table and are not yet verified against a classical text (Beta); the three muhurtas on which traditions differ are marked as disputed.

Traditions may vary by region and Panchang convention. Times are shown for the selected place, time zone and calculation profile.
