Mantra
आ कृष्णेन रजसा वर्तमानो निवेशयन्नमृतं मर्त्यं च ।ā kṛṣṇena rajasā vartamāno niveśayannamṛtaṃ martyaṃ ca |
हिरण्ययेन सविता रथेना देवो याति भुवनानि पश्यन् ॥hiraṇyayena savitā rathenā devo yāti bhuvanāni paśyan ||
The Roman line is IAST transliteration derived from the Devanagari (ā = long a, ṃ = anusvara, ḥ = visarga, ś/ṣ = sh sounds, c = ch as in “church”). In Hindi, Awadhi and Braj texts the silent final “a” is dropped. Transliteration does not show Vedic accents.
Traditional context
In the graha-shanti tradition this verse is recited for Surya. Some Jyotish traditions associate such recitation with strengthening the Sun's influence; this is a traditional practice, not a guaranteed remedy.
