Shloka of the day Saturday, 5 September 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 5.10

brahmaṇyādhāya karmāṇi saṅgaṃ tyaktvā karoti yaḥ |

lipyate na sa pāpena padmapatramivāmbhasā ||

Meaning

One who acts offering all work to Brahman and giving up attachment is not touched by wrong, as a lotus leaf is not wetted by water.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
