Shloka of the day Thursday, 7 May 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 7.3

manuṣyāṇāṃ sahasreṣu kaścidyatati siddhaye |

yatatāmapi siddhānāṃ kaścinmāṃ vetti tattvataḥ ||

Meaning

Among thousands of people hardly one strives for perfection, and among those who strive, hardly one knows Me in truth.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
